The BIG Debate: U.S. Foreign Policy and the War in Iraq

Libertarians Ron Paul & Doug Casey vs. Conservatives Larry Abraham & Dinesh D’Souza

Summary of points raised by Ron Paul:

* In general, in the past those who advocated non-intervention won elections.
* The constitution did not give permission to the US government to initiate wars of aggression and that was for good reason.
* The constitution notes that war should only be waged after a declaration of war from congress.
* The founders’ advice was to talk to people, trade with them, but not intervene in the internal affairs of other nations.
* There are many unintended consequences of intervention. As more intervention has taken place over the 20th century, people around the world have become resentful of U.S. foreign policy. This resentment has created blowback as extremist organizations have become motivated to attack the U.S. based on its interventionist foreign policy.
* If a non-intervention policy is hard to accept, consider what intervention looks like from the other side. What would we think if the Chinese had troops within our borders and they were teaching us to live like the Chinese and teaching us their religion and their laws? We would be outraged and we would fight to remove their presence.
* When Ronald Reagan sent troops to Lebanon and reversed his pledge to never turn tail and run. He explained the reversal due to his realizing the irrationality of the policies of that nation and the hatreds of the region. It was a lesson he had to learn, but we still haven’t learned it.
* In 1953 we used the CIA to overthrow democratically elected Prime Minister Mohamed Mosedec because we didn’t like him defending the interests of the Iranians against the interests of the British and American oil companies. And we wonder why they get angry.
* We remember nothing, they forget nothing.
* In the 1980’s we subsidized the radical madrassa schools and Osama bin Laden to create “freedom fighters” against the communists
* We were partners with Saddam Hussein because he was attacking Iran. When he used gas, we looked the other way and actually sold him the gas.
* These policies have to stop, and a better managed war in Iraq will not solve America’s fundamentally broken foreign policy

How are America’s economic policies with Mexico damaging, and does that affect illegal immigration?

Posted on May 13th, 2010 by admin

Also, what specific policies were put in place to make it so hard for Mexicans to legally immigrate?

They aren’t – we constantly give them millions.

None – in 1965 they changed immigration law to favor third world loser countries. We take in more legal immigrants than the rest of the world combined. If it is so difficult how come millions are capable of doing it every year. That’s right – illegals can’t pass the medical and criminal background checks.

The 1986 amnesty excluded Australians but included mexicans.

The source of your information is extremely inaccurate.

install software through group policy

Posted on May 5th, 2010 by admin

This is a video about how to install software through group policy. I install Firefox 3.0 through a MSI (Microsoft Installer Package) that is accessible through a local share. To do this it requires a GPO (group policy object) be applied on the domain (Server with active directory). You may assign the program to specific users or computers so that it will be installed. You can also publish the software so that the user may decide to install the software. You can do this on Server 2008 domain controller and Windows 7, but it also available for 2003, 2000, XP, or Vista.

GHRF 2009: Course instruction as a public policy: responses to future occupations

Posted on May 2nd, 2010 by admin

Providing accurate course guidance services that can be trusted by both the youths who are at the turning point of selection between education and occupations and adults is a very important matter in terms of national policies. In the middle of the 1990s, The OECD analyzed each countrys career guide and policy making to encourage lifelong study, increase flexibility of the labor market and activate welfare policies. In 2000, the OECD, Centre for Educational Research and Innovation (CERI) conducted a case study on career guide for teenagers. The center pointed out that governmental intervention in career information, guidance and counseling could be one of the national action plans. Strengthening the course education is required to take, as a public policy, to improve the ability of a society to respond to future occupations amid the rapid changes in technologies is vitally important.

http://www.democracynow.org/2010/1/14/naomi_klein_issues_haiti_disaster_capitalism

Journalist and author Naomi Klein spoke in New York last night and addressed the crisis in Haiti: We have to be absolutely clear that this tragedy—which is part natural, part unnatural—must, under no circumstances, be used to, one, further indebt Haiti and, two, to push through unpopular corporatist policies in the interest of our corporations. What are the policies of the liberal democrats?

Posted on April 25th, 2010 by admin

I’m old enough to vote now and I’ll be the first to admit that I have no idea about anything to do with politics. I would like to vote, but before I do I want to know what each the policies of each party are. How can I find these. What are the policies of the lib dems? I have been on their website and I really would just like a few points on their plan of action and don’t want to read the many sections & paragrahs that they have written.

Rob from the working people and give it to the people who dont work and dont deserve it
