Adorable Puppy Explains Health Care Bill
Posted on February 7th, 2010 by admin
In which John offers a summary of the health care reform bill that just passed the U.S. senate, discussing the insurance exchange market, pre-existing condition clauses, medicare taxes, and other fine points of the still-under-debate bill. Here’s a good explanation of how the insurance exchanges will look like: http://bit.ly/eIwNE

About abortion: The senate plan works like this: Policies covering abortion would be available in the exchange market (at least in some states), but those plans would have to collect two separate premiums–one covering everything other than abortion, and one for abortion coverage. The subsidy (available to all families making less than about $88,000 a year depending on number of kids) would only apply to the non-abortion policy.
If this seems like a hilariously stupid distinction, that’s because it is. Ultimately, it of course doesn’t matter which policy the subsidy goes toward. But then again, every federal program “supports” abortion in some way. For instance, without federally funded highways, it would be impossible for most women to get abortions. All government spending indirectly goes to support all activity in America, but it’s ridiculous to say that, for instance, food stamps encourage meth use, even though sometimes people trade meth for food they bought with food stamps. It’s equally disingenuous to say that this bill will allow federal funding of abortions, unless you’re willing to argue that all government spending funds abortion.

Isn’t it correct …
Isn’t it correct that there are several preexisting conditions that are in this that WILL NOT be covered? For instance, Hep C?

I see things right …
I see things right about bill; Change That Works indorsed it. It’s not perfect; it’s not exactly what I had in mind; but I will support it, hopefully a step in the right direction, until we finally have a single-payer national health insurance system.

i’d hoped the rest of the world wasn’t as blind as they appear to be.
and i am done for this video. it is truely depressing the state of our world, that such blind views are so accepted- and almost worshiped.

I hope you are not as hateful and duped as your things written here make you look.

It is being called …
It is being called unconstitutional it just has to be signed into law before it can be challenged in court, as being unconstitutional. 15 states’ attorneys general are looking into the violations of constitutionality of the “Cornhusker Kickback”. The 15 AGs of course are from states with republican governors since democrat governors are goose-stepping with the party.

Alright you …
Alright you communist fuck. Let’s get one thing straight. It’s not your country- you only hear on sided stories. You are fed the liberal bullshit that the media(s) want you to hear. Unless you’ve lived here as long as I have and seen the changes that are happening, you have no right to tell me I am wrong. I AM done posting on this video because of the blindness of people.

a point that i …
a point that i meant to make yesterday:
if i the health care bills were unconstitutional, how exactly would it make it through congress and senate? i mean, it definitely faced huge opposition, proof of that is how it was butchered by the time it passed. so, why wouldnt opposing politicians, who have a much stronger understanding of constitutional law than you or i, mention that? it simply doesnt make sense.

in case you haven’t …
in case you haven’t already noticed, you can’t send me a message. My privacy settings are maxed out, considering how easy it is to get personal info on people from youtube. i suggest you take the same precaution, as you discuss controvertial topics on youtube and people can take it too far. also, preemtively blocking people is something i do. nothing personal.
as well as that, this discussion began on a public forum and it should end that way. evidence and facts should be in the open, always.

@werblesnerf
could have been an honest mistake to mark spam, and if it was i apologise. if you have a quote, i would post it then. as you can see it isnt difficult to send multiple comments. or you could tell me the name and a bit of the quote and i could search it. quotes are useless though, anyone can say anything. that doesnt nessesarily make it true. if your quote is taken out of context, you can rebutt. no harm no foul.
how do you define too much power exactly? explain what you mean plx.

@werblesnerf
10th: this one actually relates to the discussion, so i am a little thrown! are you saying that healthcare should be state rather than federal? the 10th amendment has been outdated for a long time, because it assumed that the constitution would be kept current, which it wasn’t. there was no such thing as health insurance at the time obviously. thats also the argument for why criminalising drugs federally is unconstitutional by the way.

@werblesnerf
not …
@werblesnerf
not convincing. perhaps if you have already decided to accept that the health care bill is what the opposers say it is.
4th amendment: search and seizure
theres absolutely no way this is pertinent in any any way as far as i know. explain?
9th: construction of constitution
rights can exist outside of the constitution. what rights are you talking about in this case? youre going to need specifics and evidence that this is the case.

I have a quote from …
I have a quote from some one- but it’s about 400 characters too long to post in here, and some one will take it out of context, but to sum it up- it gives too much power to one branch of government. Also that congress has no authority to regulate health care. It also goes against the 4th ammendment to the constitution, as well as the 9th ammendment, and oh- let’s not forget the 10th ammendment.
as for marking a comment spam- that was my mistake- as you can see- reply and spam are close there.

i am …
cotd.
i am astounded by your ignorance. your reasoning is nonsensical at best, purposely false at worst. i am disgusted every time i read about the health care bill on public forums because of people like you and your lack of sympathy for your fellow man. that you and your ilk exist makes me fear for the future.

cotd.
3. it IS their job. the government serves the people, who pay their wages and appoint them. what exactly do you think a government is for? for realz, im interested.
4. ‘more people die waiting for care under socialised medicine. do your research etc etc blah blah’ wow, good work on that research, is it exactly more people or are those numbers an estimate?45000 people die a year from curable diseases in the us because they dont have health insurance.best system in the world?MY ASS.

@werblesnurf
you …
@werblesnurf
you are wrong in most ways i can think of for the following reasons:
1. in the eyes of the law, everyone should be equal and constitutionally everyone has the right to life. the current american system favours the rich above the poor.
2. best system in the world is bull. the system which can be bought most easily and is hence most lucrative for highly skilled doctors, i would agree to that.

except that glenn …
except that glenn beck is a traitor. i don’t think he even knows where he stands. and no- i did not pull that out of my ass, jackass, i know it for a fact. i have known people from canada (where they do that same socialized bullshit) and more people die from waiting.
another thought for you dear foreigners- america is not about or for socialism. it is about capitalism. look it up some time before you act like you know everything. jackass.
